The internal recoil mechanism utilises a coiled steel spring that automatically adjusts line tension to keep the flat nylon tape taut and prevent it from dragging on the ground. The single-button brake and lock system allows the handler to instantly halt line extension or lock the lead at a fixed length, providing direct proximity control over animals weighing up to 50 kg (110 pounds).
